01 / WANDER

Let the world choose.

Worldwide random on HOME, or press SAVE to browse 162 countries and 1,560 states and provinces. OCT− and OCT+ stay within your selected region. Tap EDIT for a fixed 50 km neighborhood; the header shows Near. An uncached area needs one index scan; saved location batches survive reboot. GLO → SAVE refreshes the batch.

02 / FIND YOUR BEARINGS

A globe beside the sound.

A static globe shows the recording’s real coordinates in forest green, warm cream and muted orange. Location and title sit on the left; the header shows battery bars or USB power. REC saves a recording; SEQ opens your favorites to browse and replay. Press SEL for author and licence details.

03 / PLAY

Keep a longer moment.

ARP or ENV opens one expanded sampler. PRESETS chooses 16 / 8 / 4 / 2 kHz for 2.7 / 5.5 / 10.9 / 21.8 seconds. REC captures; EDIT selects LAYER. SELECT’s live mix sets overdub strength: 0% keeps the old clip, 100% blends old/new 50/50, and intermediate values add a quieter layer. SAVE stores one clip across power cycles. K1–K4 trim, tune and set level up to 200%. SELECT sets live mix; ALGORITHM mutes the live monitor independently. Press ENV inside the editor to choose Radio or USB input. Select FIELD as your computer’s audio output (44.1 kHz / 16-bit stereo), then play and press REC. USB captures to mono and supports Layer and SAVE. The source stays locked during recording.

SEL cycles one shot, held loop, latched loop and Slice. In Slice, PRESETS selects 4, 8, 16 or 27 portions. The former delay/reverb and held-key FX memory now extends the sample. LFO retains the river filter, and FX taps its tempo. Output is boosted with peak limiting. Mirror the display over USB.

A small departure

Plug in. Set up. Listen.

No new hardware is needed. The installer also includes stock-firmware restore and crash-report tools.

Source: MPL-2.0, with the original platform and third-party notices retained. Independent of Radio Aporee and M-VAVE.

  1. Connect your FM-1 directly by a USB data cable. Open this page in desktop Chrome or Edge and press Install above. Allow MIDI access when asked.
  2. Install the alpha. Keep the cable connected until the installer finishes.
  3. Join WiFi on GLO. The first location-index download takes about three minutes or longer on a weak signal.
  4. Listen to a random location. Press SAVE for country → state → Play random here. HOME returns to worldwide random. Choosing a new region needs another index scan; then skips and reboots use its saved locations. GLO → SAVE scans again when you want a new location batch.
